A child-like faith.

Mark 10:13-16
13People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." 16And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.

THIS post is going to be a mess and all over the place.. but I just need to share this awesomeness of God with you all! haha

okay so Yesterday i was reading this book called "Essential truths of the Christian faith" and it was talking about having a child-like faith.. and what that really means. It said " when we are small children, we fully trust in the care of our parents. If we ( as children) were about to touch a hot stove our parents would say "No." There is no time to explain the intricacies of thermal energy, and such sophisticated explanations would be wasted on us anyways.." children can't possibly understand. They immediately back off and obey. They don't need to know why, they just do it because their parents said so. When they get older though, they start to ask questions before they stop. they try to figure everything out... they try to prove that we know better and they end up getting BURNED! haha
As I was thinking about this God brought a memory to my mind.

I was 15, and it was the day of my drivers "behind the wheel" test. My mom and I were going for a practice drive so that we were sure I knew what I was doing. We were stopped at a red light and I needed to make a left turn... but this was a "yield on green" which I had never heard of before. (or maybe I just completely forgot about it.. haha) As the light turned green I started to make the turn and my mom yelled out "STOP!".. but me, being my lame little self, kept going with my foot off the gas. I was looking around to see why she wanted me to stop! (we were in the middle of an intersection! haha) As soon as I could comprehend that there was a car coming RIGHT for us it was too late to do anything.. But God had moved me out of the way.. so the car JUSTttttttt missed us. I immediately pulled over on the side of the road... shaking, and realizing that.. I could have DIED! Or worse! my mom, who was on the side of the car closest to the oncoming vehicle, could have died. All because I did not trust and listen right away.

Now this incident happen for a lot of reasons.. haha but it just recently hit me that this is a very good example of why we need to have that child-like faith in our walk with God.
We don't need to know why He is saying "STOP" and "NO".. we just need to listen and trust that He is ALL knowing and ALL powerful and He does things for GOOD and not EVIL.. He wants to keep us safe.

I'm definitely not saying that we should just be ignorant and not try to understand anything! I am only talking about trusting here. 1 Corinthians 14:20 says "Brethren, do not be children in understanding.." God wants us to have wisdom! He wants us to learn how to serve Him! But He doesn't want us to think we know better than Him. Just to make that clear. haha

There are so many things though that we can't understand. No matter how much we want to. But God sees the bigger picture. He always knows best.. we can be SURE that when we put our trust in Him He will never let us down.
Thank You so much my sweet and wonderful Savior!!!
