Hungry??

At my college group bible study, our teacher gave us these pictures of what the bible is for us and it made me sooo starvinggggggg to read the bible!!! So, I just need to share them with you in case you weren't hungry today... we need to eat guys. haha

1. SWORD -- Heb 4:12 "For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even into the dividing apart of the soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Okay can I say WOW!! wow, wow, wow! Okay guys, Gods word is truth right!!!??? YES! So this scripture that is so loaded with beautiful pictures of how Gods word can work on us is TRUTH and all we need to do is READ it. Our teacher was talking about how we can picture this kinda like a surgery, and how God is using that sword to do a surgery on our hearts. Each and every cut is to SAVE our lives and make us whole and new again. so so so awesome.

2. WATER-- Eph 5:26 "He might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word."
God's word is WATER to our souls! Can you imagine if you didn't drink water for like three weeks?? (I know I have gone even longer than that without reading my bible..) You would be BEYOND thirsty! haha Then you get a huge gulp of water and then you're thinking "why on earth didn't I drink water before!?" You can literally feel it FILL up you're insides and nourish you're body! SAME THING GOES for you're soul. When we don't read the word our soul starts to dry out and become weak like that little shriveled up thing on the little mermaid!! BUT WORSE because at least that thing could see.. and probably think.. our souls just become MUSH without the word. DRINK IT UP guys. drink it up. GIVE you're soul revival through the word. Give you're walk with the Lord LIFE and strength!

3. FIRE-- Jer 23:29 " Is not my word like a fire? says Jehovah;.."
This find of fire is one that is going to burn us from the INSIDE, OUT. It is going to purify us. yeah it might hurt.. we will totally see a LOT of ugly coming out of us.. but it is going to stay out because this fire will not let that stuff in. It might hurt.. but it is going to be so worth it. We will be closer to God through this new holiness that the TRUTH will bring to us! GOD IS SO GOOD!

4. HAMMER-- Jer 23:29 "...and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?"
A hammer... how cool! think of this as another remodel. say you are redoing the bathroom.. and you need he bathtub out.. you take a huge sledge hammer and BASH the bathtub in pieces so that you can put a new and more beautiful one there!! God is going to do this through His word. He is going to take the rock that we call out heart and He is going to BREAK it in pieces! and then give us a new heart.. the old has gone and the new has come.. but HOW will we know this if we don't read our bibles?? how would we begin to even capture the awesomeness of it all???

It's not just a book guys...
take the time to read it.. and to get to know YOUR SAVIOR and CREATOR and KING.
